Upon entering the contemporary showroom, one couldn’t help but notice the glass room adorned with the bold, vibrant colors and fun, flirty prints of Ginny’s line. Guests sifted through a rack of charming dresses and tailored separates while others browsed a glossy Gunlocke table decorated with even more refined pieces. In fact, clothing adorned most of the glass walls, hung like artwork to be admired, while models made the rounds of the showroom floor, smiling and showing off their Ginny H apparel.

The night was really a celebration of just how much Ginny has accomplished and really come into her own since breaking away from her old gig—VP at her brother Tommy’s company—just four years ago. The FIT alum designs clothes that are truly timeless without looking forced or overly done, which has resulted in a following of women who cannot live without their Ginny H. Her line is favored by the confident and stylish everywhere, including Bethenny Frankel , one of the charismatic stars of The Real Housewives of New York City and author of Naturally Thin: Unleash Your Skinnygirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting . Often sporting different looks from Ginny’s line, Frankel discloses her fashion secret on her BravoTV.com blog: “A lot of you have asked about my clothing on the show. At least 75 percent of what I wear is by Ginny H.”

Sticking with her elegant and comfortable theme, Ginny also debuted her new affordable-yet-chic T-shirt line. The show kicked off with models strutting out to Lady GaGa’s “Pokerface,” setting the feel-good, playful vibe that the entire collection portrays. Gorgeous flowing dresses and polished separates graced the runway and garnered a favorable response from the audience, particularly the male members. Winston Holder, of Designer Pages , was in attendance and recognized Ginny’s line as “elegant and sleek with a playful palette.”

In true Ginny H fashion, her latest line offers simple silhouettes paired with smooth lines to make for chic and polished garments that perfectly complement every shape and size. Her attention to detail is no doubt what makes her designs stand out. “She takes her time [when she’s designing]…she’s in her own world,” says Kysa Englund, a headband designer who often coordinates her products in collaborative events with her designer pal.
And that very creative and exciting world was recreated for guests at the party who were invited to come up with their own dress designs for the Spring Fling Challenge. Participants were provided with an assortment of swatches of varying colors, materials, and patterns, many of which were used in Ginny’s own line.

Guests could then sketch out their visions and include these swatches to showcase their design ideas. Ginny herself will select the lucky winner, who in return gets to choose a piece from the designer’s collection to keep! And if that wasn’t exciting enough, the night ended with an impromptu dancing spree. With the DJ pumping out hit after hit, Ms. Hilfiger simply could not help but turn the runway into her own private dance floor. Other guests, myself included, soon stepped out onto the red carpet and joined the designer in celebrating her success.
A toast to fashion and a toast to Ginny H…what could be better? How about talking one-on-one with Ginny about her designs? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. An interview is soon to follow…
